Our History

In December 1989, Sean and Carol O’Driscoll embarked on their entrepreneurial journey by opening their flooring shop on Mardyke Street, Skibbereen. Their business flourished, and by 1994, they expanded to their flagship location on Market Street, where the flooring shop continues to thrive today.
Realising they needed more space to accommodate their growing inventory and expansion into furniture, Sean and Carol moved on from the days of creatively balancing sofas on rolls of carpet (Literally).
In 2008, they purchased a unit in Curragh Commercial Park on Marsh Road. This new location has since become the home of the furniture side of their business, allowing them to offer an even wider selection to their valued customers.
In 2020, after completing his accounting exams, Jack returned home to join the family business full-time, bringing with him the ambition and drive to build on the strong foundation that Sean and Carol established. Together, they continue to grow and innovate, ensuring the business remains a cornerstone of quality and service in the local and wider community.

Environmental Efforts

At Sean O’Driscoll Furniture, we’re committed to making a positive impact on our planet. By choosing our products, you’re not only getting quality products but also contributing to replenishing the resources we use. Together, we can make a difference, one tree at a time. Thank you for supporting our mission to create a sustainable future for generations to come.
